Dr. Alex Roher is co-founder and Medical Director of SD Hair MD, overseeing the medical standards behind every treatment plan and working alongside Elijah Scholer to build a hair restoration practice patients can actually trust.
Credentials & Training
Dr. Roher earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology at the same university. He went on to complete a surgical internship and an anesthesiology residency, and is a board-certified anesthesiologist with 20 years in medicine. That background in anesthesiology, and its emphasis on precision, safety, and patient comfort, carries directly into how procedures are performed at SD Hair MD.
Why He Co-Founded SD Hair MD
Dr. Roher is also the founder and Medical Director of SDBotox, one of San Diego’s top-rated medical spas, where he’s known among patients and peers as an advocate for proactive, evidence-based care over quick fixes. When Elijah Scholer, who had experienced hair loss firsthand and grown frustrated with an industry that too often prioritized volume over outcomes, was looking for a partner to build something better, Dr. Roher understood the problem immediately. Together they founded SD Hair MD around transparency, education, and personalized care.
